Features

The Tracheostomy Care Simulator provides the most realistic approximation of a patient available for tracheostomy and airway care training. The simulator replicates an adult male with full upper airway anatomy, including oral and nasal passages, pharynx, epiglottis, trachea, oesophagus, stoma, cricoid cartilage, and representative cervical vertebrae.

The chest area contains left and right bronchi and the bronchial tree. The oesophagus terminates approximately 5 cm below the trachea opening. The side of the neck and chest area over the bronchial tree allow viewing of the suction catheter and tracheal tube during procedures. A viewing window at the bottom of the simulator shows whether a suction catheter has entered the right bronchus (visible) or the left bronchus (not visible), providing immediate confirmation of catheter path.

Stoma cleansing can be performed just as on an actual patient. Dressing and tie changes are also supported, and the experience closely replicates real clinical conditions. Note: tracheostomy tube is not included.
