Features

The TruCVC® is an adult upper torso trainer designed for best-practice central venous catheter insertion training under live ultrasound guidance. Featuring realistic vascular and skeletal anatomy, it enables full-workflow procedural training — from initial needle insertion and vessel tenting on access through to guidewire manipulation, dilation, and complete catheter placement using the Seldinger technique.

Head positioning is pre-configured at 10° leftward rotation to expose the right neck and ensure anatomical landmarks are readily accessible for ergonomic right-sided cannulation practice. The adjustable base supports 15° Trendelenburg positioning to align with clinical approach and support learner technique standardisation. Visual flashback and fluid injection/withdrawal confirm needle tip placement, while arterial pulse simulation — activated via hand pump — reinforces vessel differentiation and clinical decision-making.

Built with TruUltra® self-regenerating material, the model withstands 1,000+ needle punctures and 40+ full catheter insertions per insert (20+ per vein site), supporting dependable throughput in high-volume teaching environments. Set-up time is under 5 minutes with no mess, and a simple fluid mechanism enables rapid blood refill to maintain continuous classroom flow. The system is compatible across ultrasound machines.
