Skills and Features

Skills

  • Male urinary catheterisation
  • Anatomical identification
  • Patient positioning and handling
  • Perineal care

Features

Build confidence in male urinary catheterisation skills with a realistic simulator designed for demonstration, hands-on practice and anatomical identification. The Male Catheterisation Simulator allows learners to practise proper catheter insertion technique, understand key anatomical landmarks and reinforce correct perineal care procedures in a safe, repeatable training environment.

A lubricated catheter can be inserted through the urethral orifice, passed along the urethra and advanced into the bladder. When catheterisation is performed correctly, simulated urine flows through the catheter to confirm proper placement. During insertion, learners experience realistic resistance at the mucosal folds, bulbous urethra and internal urethral sphincter, helping reinforce proper technique and patient handling.

  • Realistic male catheterisation training through the urethra and into the bladder, with lifelike anatomical resistance
  • Simulated urine flows through the catheter when the bladder is correctly entered, confirming proper placement
  • Simulated mucosal folds, bulbous urethra, internal urethral sphincter and bladder provide realistic feedback during insertion
  • Supports teaching proper patient positioning, handling and related urinary care procedures
  • Durable construction allows repeated classroom practice while maintaining realistic performance
  • Designed for use with a 16 French silicone Foley catheter and simulator lubricant to maintain realism and extend simulator life
Additional Information

Note

  • Only Foley Catheter Size 16 with 5cc balloon should be used. A silicone Foley catheter can be used if extreme care is taken to inflate the cuff only when it is in the proper position. Just as in a real patient, the cuff must be completely deflated before the catheter is removed. Improper use of a Foley can result in damage to the simulator, just as when using a Foley catheter with a real patient
