For comparison, it also includes a stage 3+ (6mm) pitting pad. Learners practise assessing the stage, depth and rebound time to baseline, and feel the difference between pitting and non-pitting tissue.

The Non-Pitting Oedema Trainer represents a non-pitting stage of oedema, also known as brawny oedema, which is a very hard, fibrotic tissue that does not indent when pressed. The lifelike simulated tissue feels rock-hard, making pitting impossible.
For comparison, the trainer also includes a stage 3+ (6mm) oedema pad with deep pitting that remains for a short time when the tissue is pressed.
