Features

The Special Needs Infant Simulator is designed to help healthcare learners practise the specialised and gentle care required for newborn and special needs patients. The newborn-size trainer supports hands-on training for medical procedures and daily care skills used in neonatal, paediatric, and nursing education.

The simulator features realistic anatomy, internal reservoirs, and functional procedure sites, allowing learners to develop care plans and practise essential procedures. The movable arms, legs, and head support patient care practice and handling skills. The model measures approximately 53 cm in length and weighs approximately 1.3 kg, providing realistic size and weight during training.

A functional tracheostomy site supports suctioning practice using a size 3.0mm neonatal tube, and the external colostomy stoma enables ostomy care and bag placement training. Internal reservoirs support nasogastric tube placement, gastrostomy care, and urethral catheterisation procedures. The simulator is suitable for a wide range of training environments from introductory nursing education to advanced neonatal care simulation.
