Features

The Chest Tube Manikin is designed to teach the anatomy, theory, and hands-on skills required to manage chest trauma, perform chest tube insertion, and maintain closed chest drainage systems. The right side of the manikin features cutaway viewing windows showing the relationship between the skin, musculature, ribs, and lungs, providing clear visualisation of the anatomy involved in thoracostomy procedures.

The left side includes a pressurised pneumothorax site and a functional chest tube insertion site for realistic decompression and fluid drainage training. Fluid colour, volume, and viscosity can be adjusted by the instructor to simulate different clinical presentations. The manikin is compatible with commercially available closed water-seal drainage systems. Replaceable pads with layered tissue structures provide realistic resistance and allow repeated practice across pre-hospital, emergency, and critical care training scenarios.
